I haven’t wanted to spit food out more in my life than at Flatrocks at my visit today. We came in after seeing a flatbread pizza in a local add. We enjoyed the last place that was there called American Pizza Pie Company, We love flat breads more than most pizzas so I thought it would be great to give it a chance.
I walked n and was sat in a booth with a TV. It was blaring nickelodeon and I was trying so hard to drop the volume to a normal sound lever. I don’t think of myself as extremely technology challenged, but I could not turn the volume down for the life of me. Some awful show was on and extremely loud, as the speakers are in the back head rest of the booth right at ear level. I then had to change the TV to internet so I wouldn’t have to hear the noise of the awful children’s station.
We figured that we would give up on making the TV work and focused on the food we knew we were sure to love.
The server was a sweetheart so we took his suggestion of mozzeralla sticks. They were just OK but lacking enough marinara sauce. At that point in our visit we hear the argument of the chef and front of house manger over labor hours, this was extremely loud that we actually got up to see the argument take place. They didn’t even notice we were watching. Our server on the other hand was mortified that we had been subjected to the disturbance.
After the mozzarella sticks, we ordered grilled wings and then the flatbread. We actually spit parts of the Italian flatbread out since it was so soggy and the sundried tomato was burnt. The wings weren’t worth the calories, as the flavor was just lacking any form of spice and tasted like they came out of the freezer. Wings are amongst my top three favorite foods, and we left them and the majority of the flatbread all on the plate. In general, not worth it at all, potential was there, but execution was lacking in the flavor and quality department.
